 Ground-based remote sensing instruments now start to provide large amounts
  of information that can be exploited to track the heights of the atmosphe
 ric boundary laery and its sublayers. In addition\, information can be obt
 ained on the state of the atmosphere in the lowest layers with respect to 
 e.g. atmospheric stability or the sources of turbulence. While aerosol-bas
 ed methods are increasingly tested for the implementation across larger ne
 tworks\, PROBE now also aims to better coordinate activities that are expl
 oiting turbulence or thermodynamic information.\nIn this virtual meeting\,
  the WG2 subgroup on ABL characterisation aims to assess the current state
  of tools and algorithms used within our community to determine ABL height
 s and the state of the atmosphere based on\n\nWind and turbulence profiles
  obtained by e.g. Doppler wind lidars or Radar wind profilers\nTemperature
  and humidity profiles obtained by e.g. microwave radiometers\, UAS or bal
 loon soundings\n\nWe invite anyone to share thair expertise during this su
